More about Melanie Surplice
Driven by my innate interest in human behaviour, I have spent the last 20 years exploring many aspects of human behaviour. As part of my own personal development and continuing education, I have:
- Completed a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in marketing (1994), and a Masters of Arts in Journalism majoring in print and online journalism (2003), both at the University of Technology, Sydney. I attained the Certificate IV in Training & Assessment in 2008.
- Undertaken a range of intensive personal development courses, including Stephen Covey and James Wanless workshops, and more recently, the intensive Turning Point and Nature of Service courses, run by People Knowhow in Australia and Soul Purpose in the UK.
- Actively sought to receive, experience and write about a range of complementary therapies including aromatherapy, Aura Soma, Ayurvedic massage, counselling, energetic healing, holistic and seated massage, homeopathy, hot stone massage, hypnosis, Indian head massage, meditation, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), reflexology, Reiki and yoga.
- Explored other practices such as tarot, astrology, numerology, runes, biorhythms, crystals and clairvoyance.
- Read extensively in the areas of motivation, success, personal development, psychology, philosophy, spiritual development, mythology, relationships, complementary therapies, anatomy and physiology, stress management, creativity, writing and business.
- Volunteered for numerous support-based projects, including support team work for Turning Point Courses in the UK, leadership roles in Toastmasters clubs across Australia and the UK, and volunteer massage work.
